Undergoing Maintenance & Repairs *Update

Heya peeps, I've noticed that the site's layout is not appearing the way it should. It's currently undergoing some recoding to return it back to normal. Thanks for the heads up K! So 'bare' (couldn't resist a pun, even though it's really bad) with this layout while I try to get things back to what it was. Or maybe it's time for a template change, leave a comment and let me know. =)

*Hmm that didn't take so long afterall. But if you're still not viewing the site right, leave a comment! If you think this layout sucks leave a comment too! Although I've been known to have selective hearing. Heh.

Trista - SOLD

Corporate glam with a bit of funk n jazz and edginess. Lemonade cool carved roses and mint green swarovski crystals. Ironically Jacqueline put up a similar piece hours ago. Apparently we've got telepathy, considering our sources for the roses are different. We just bought the 14K gold trimming together without discussing what we were planning to do with it. Lol. Measures 5cm excluding earhooks.

Esther - SOLD

Esther is the simple kind of pretty, she's petite and cute, although she can be really loud. But still she loves everything sweet. Happy Birthday girl. Measures 2.3cm excluding ear hooks.

Galadriel - the Lady of Light - SOLD

A griffin brass charm on buffalo turquoise. This has more blue than the ones I used in the earrings and this is due to more copper being present during it's formation. Buffalo turquoise hold a very dear place in my heart due to it's rarity and the way the colors form. I suppose that's also why I prefer working with semi precious stones. Every stone has it's own personality, character and its own beauty. Even with a remake you hardly ever get a same piece, unlike glass beads and crystals. May Galadriel bring light into your life and enlighten you in the areas you need help with. Buffalo turquoise measures 4cm x 3cm, while the griffin measures 4.5cm. 14K necklace closed with a spring clasp measures 24 inches. One piece only no remakes, Japanese Source.

*P.S. From now I'll add Japanese Source in the description with pieces that have been sourced from Japan, so that I don't have to write a long repetitive story about where it came from. Afterall I did spend quite a bit on beads so there'll be quite a number of Japanese Sourced items to tag. =)

Angeline - SOLD

For the friend who loves yellow and cheery stuff, I've named this after her. Flat lemon glass teardrops topped with cheery tenshas. How not to make your day better, do not look at this pair of earrings. Measures approx. 3.5cm.

Mt Fuji & Cherry Blossoms - SOLD

Its intricate detailings remind me of the papercutting project I did for my 'O's. I'm quite tempted to do that again, maybe when I have more free time. 24K gold plated filligree showcasing Japan's pride, Mt Fuji & its pretty cherry blossoms.

A pity I didn't get to see Mt Fuji, falling asleep on the train during the only opportunity to catch a glimpse of it. Although that isn't exactly a regret, because I'd much prefer to climb it and appreciate it right in front of me. So I promise myself a trip to Japan again, spending more time and more money there. Haha. Hopefully in the really near future.

Japan's pride is strung on 14K gold chains and closed with a spring clasp.

Freedom Fighters - SOLD

Fiesty birds who fly for freedom in the clear blue skies. The blue ovals turn electric blue as it absorbs light in the picture and shows you its steely resolve and confidence as it absorbs the energies of the surrounding to feed its soul and mission. These Freedom Fighters won't give up and would never succumb to their enemy, the soul-less and those afraid to imagine, preferring to commit kamikaze over surrender. Exclusive piece, no remakes.

Mother's Love - SOLD

I know a rather unoriginal sounding name. Anyhoo that's not the point right? Brass charm on a 18" 14K chain with a heart toggle closure. Simple for a fashion forward mom. Another for your grandmother?
Mother charm measures approx 5.5cm across and 2.2cm at it's tallest point. Grandma charm measures similar dimensions.

Of cherubs & love - SOLD

Cutesy alert! Well, not exactly cutesy but the fuchsia hearts are really striking!! My mum loves them a lot. I took 4 and she's like why are you taking so little, continues putting more of the beads into the bag. Lol. She's so cute really. Brass winged cherubs facing different directions. Measures approx 4cm excluding earhooks.

Celia - SOLD

Dainty strands of gold plated chains with interspersed swarovski crystals. Very organic look for the beach babe in town or with a bohemian skirt. Measures approx 4.5cm excluding earhooks.

Easy Peasy Japanesey - ALL SOLD

Megumi, Haruko & Kumiko - ALL SOLD

Hmm on the contrary Japanese isn't that easy to master! Most of them speak minimal english so it's actually pretty tough to converse and ask for simple stuff. But they're oh so helpful and it really makes up for all the language barriers. Also interesting is that there are a lot of Chinese nationals working in Japan. So we were saved each time we went to a restaurant coz nearly every restaurant we went to we bumped into someone who could speak mandarin. Saved!

Alright onto earrings, Megumi, Haruko & Kumiko. I also call it Le Petit Collection, it's very adorable and cute. Thought i'd keep things simple for these. One of each, no remakes, until I go to Japan again or find someone who's going there. Megumi measures approx 1.1cm across while Haruko & Kumiko are approx 1.9cm across.

Mae - SOLD

Mae is nature cool with green jasper and carved roses of a stone which I'm not too sure of its origins. For the calm, cool and collected. Measures approx 4cm excluding 14K gold filled earhooks.

It's rather funny how I used to not like roses and never thought that I'd be using carved roses to such extent in my works. But now I think that they add a feminine touch to a pair of simple stones, just like in this case. Still simple but not to the extent of blah-ness. I've got more carved roses from Japan in case you were wondering why I'm yakking on about them and I nearly fell in love with the entire section in the gemstore while I was there. My other comp crashed and some of my photos are buried at the moment. Give me some time while I resurrect them from the dead.

Susan - SOLD

Simple pretty lovelies to allow these pretty cloisonned butterflie stand out. Against the gold frame, it's a picture of youth, fun and feminity. Measures approx 3.5cm excluding earhooks.

Melinda - SOLD

Zebra jasper topped with bronzed flowers snuggling cream pearls. Yummilicious. I think i have a tendency towards stones that are chocolate colored. Measures approx 4cm excluding bronze plated earhooks.

A tidbit about Zebras
"African bushmen of Guinea refer to these stripes in their native Madango as "sukuku" which means "lightning" and plays an important role in the customs of the eastern region of Kankan. In ancient beliefs it was thought zebras were sent by the spirit of lightning and rain to remind people that time changes, good seasons of abundant fertility might turn out to be droughts, that giving life may take another's life away, that black can't exist without white."

Mandy - Cobachon Close-up

Oooh and swans swimming in the pond! Very Enid Blyton.

Mandy - SOLD

Country cottages and fields on a cobachon for that distinctive vintage look. Found these lovely cobachons in Japan and flipped every bead in the bin there was to make sure I got the best out of the bin. Then scoured high and low to get a backing that fit the cobachon of this size. I tend to fall in love with beads too easily and this is one of them. Firstly it so reminds me of Enid Blyton stories and the vintage feel is unimitable. Secondly it's definitely unique, coz I've never seen them around. Okay before I start rambling off track, topped with peach aventurine carved roses and a little teeny weeny butterfly charm and tassles. I think i've got the entire look down to pat. Whimsical yet coquettish. Kinda reminds you of love at sweet 16. Oh and the blushing cheeks. Pendant drops 8cm including tassles, while necklace measures 22 inches (ends around bust area).
