Something Old Something New - SOLD

Did up this necklace last night thinking about how well it truly fitted the theme of ushering in the New Year. A jumble of vintage charms, brand new charms, wood charms, acrylic charms, faceted amazonite, shell bead. This truly is eclectic and I hope your year ahead would be as amazingly fun as this kitschy necklace! Gunmetal chain measures 24", can be adjusted to suit the wearer. One piece only, no remakes.

I've had a wonderful 2007 and time truly flies really fast. May 2008 be a wondrous year ahead for all of us!

Avon - SOLD

I seem to have a penchant for grey recently. I just like how calm and soothing it is, and not too stark like black. Grey banded onyx connected to swarovski pearls, polymer clay lentil in tones of grey, brown and mauve are linked to a swarovski crystal chain and plated chains for an understated casual glamour. Bracelet measures 7".

Providence & a time of consolidation

Many thanks to all those who made it down today and thank you for all the presents!! Especially the lady who gave me a box of ferrero rocher when I wasn't around, please drop me an email to let me know who you are. It really feels wonderful to be appreciated by you wonderful ladies and just chatting with y'all really made my day and affirms how much I enjoy doing this and meeting you all. It really has been my pleasure knowing y'all, which if I hadn't embarked on this journey, I wouldn't have met.

A little story about me, jewelry design and art. I used to do badly in art in my secondary school, always scoring borderline grades. In Sec 3 I had to choose a subject to take, it was between art, accounts or home econs. I can't cook, I managed to cheat my way through the 2 years by pairing up with a wonderful cook and I loved washing dishes, we did very well in homec that way; I couldn't count for nuts and still can't count for nuts, just look at my accounts after each event, both my bf & Jacq laugh at me, the numbers rarely tally, it is quite sad. So i had to settle for art even though I wasn't very good in it, it was the lesser of the 3 evils i guess. The only submodule that I really did well in was jewelry design, but I never ever thought that I'd come back one full circle almost 10 years later. I still wonder if it was because i had the same art teacher for 4 years resulting in my really bad grades in art for all 4 years, or was i just not talented in that area. And 12 years ago back when I was still a kid, I used to go to this bead shop in toa payoh central to buy plastic shiny beads to make stretchable bracelets. Who would have thought I'd be doing this 12 years down the road. Lol.. Either way I just wanna say life surprises us in many ways more than one. ;P

Have a lovely one all you wonderful ladies whom I'm glad our paths crossed. A wonderful christmas and a merry new year.

Love,
Dawne

Crafty things

This was just something I came across while searching for other crafty stuff, maybe you might find it useful.. =) http://readymademag.com/blog/2007/12/20/the-last-straw/

The Last Straw

necklace.jpg

It’s a travelin’ time of year. No matter where you may be headed, here’s a tip that’ll make packing—and unpacking—a little less painful: Use plastic drinking straws to keep jewelry from getting tangled during your journey. Simply unclasp the necklaces or bracelets you plan to take with you, thread the chain of each one through a straw, and refasten the clasps (you may need to trim the straws down a bit) to ensure that your bling arrives knot-free.

Hehe Merry Christmas y'all!! =) I love Christmas!! Especially when shared with a special loved one. Hehehehe..

Love,
Dawne

Bluebells - SOLD

Blue cloisonne rings envelope clear swarovski crystals and a blue agate round, while supporting cream pearls and a aqua/lilac chalcedony teardrop below. To show the lovely blue agate's translucency I took a pic of it dangling with the block opposite as the backdrop. Hope the background's not too distracting for you to appreciate the blue agate. Bluebells measure 4.5cm excluding 14k gold plated earhooks. This will most probably be my last update for this week, maybe if the sun's still bright I may manage some sneak peeks of the items that's coming along for the christmas party tomorrow! =) For those who are new from laissezfaire, you're welcome to join us for the party tomorrow as well, just drop me a note! And no, please don't be shy. =)

Garden Party II - SOLD

I couldn't make an exact remake of Garden Party, but I could make a sister with the last clay round in a similar design from Jacqueline. Must scold her for selling beads in odd numbers. Hahaha. Ok lar sayang I still love you. With the same jumble of charms and shiny stuff in a different configuration (sounds really IT-ish, pardon me) with an addition of a rose quartz carved rose atop the fairy, this time Garden Party is mismatched with a purpose! Garden Party II measures 4.5cm excluding 14k gold plated earhooks.

Wintry Nights - SOLD

Wheee!!! I thought I could never come up with something seasonal to match whatever season it was, but I did!! Snowflake 14k gold plated charms and faceted glass briolette on 14k gold plated earhooks. Wintry Nights measures an elfin 3cm excluding earhooks. Isn't it just so simple, gorgeous and pure? *beams*

By the way don't forget to visit Adrine from A.L. Designs at The Cathay ground floor!

November Rain - SOLD

It's got the purplish and greyish tones that seems to remind me of the band that sang November Rain. I tried many times to get the translucency of the grey chalcedony teardrops onto the picture, but I just can't seem to do it. It's definitely a lot lighter and less greyish in color in real life. Even my lousy photoshop-ing skills wasn't enough to translate the picture, sigh. November rain measures 4.5cm excluding stainless steel earhooks. Argentium silver wires for all wire wrapping.

Smitten - SOLD

This was a bracelet I very much wanted to keep for myself. I made a piece for the Fashion Fusion event 2 weeks ago and before I had a chance to take a photo of it, a very lovely customer snapped it up, so I did a remake just so that I could capture it in print. I love how the apatite and amethyst match off in a very wonderful manner. In fact on its own the apatite beads weren't as pretty nor as inviting as it is together with the amethyst round. Karin's brocade lentil capped with czech two toned fire polish glass beads on both ends. Bracelet measures slightly over 7" at 18.5cm long, adjustments will be made to suit the wearer's wrist.

Summer Blooms - SOLD

A simple colorful piece using a lovely polymer clay teardrop imported from Isreal and a bling ring with encrusted crystals. The polymer clay bead is really spectacular in real life due to its multiple layering with superb skills. Something that I don't really have the patience to learn on my own, at least not as of yet. :P 14k gold plated chain currently measures 18", adjustable at your request.

Toffee Nut Frappe - SOLD

Mexican Crazy Lace Agate teardrops for a simple t-shirt and jeans combi. Simply perfect for the weekends. These are the loveliest shade out of the entire strand coz of it's softer brown and mocha colors. If you prefer them in more white-ish tones or brownish tones let me know and i'll pick them out accordingly. Teardrops measure 3.5cm excluding 14k gold plated earhooks.

Love is in the air - SOLD

As with the feelings of joy and cheer as christmas descends upon us. The air is filled with the love we have for one another, our family, friends and loved ones. Love is in the air ties up the angelite semi precious stones that is supposed to enhance communication within yourself and others, your pretty self in the polymer clay bead and the bling bling we give to others as an expression of our love for them. The blinger the present, the closer the person is to you isn't it? Well that's the case for me generally. Bracelet measures 7.5" adjustable to suit the wearer's wrist.

Apparently angelite enhances telepathy especially if both people are holding onto the stones. Something for you and your bestie?

Sunny Russia

I know I know, it's pretty much an irony. But hey we can always send some warmth and cheer from here over. =) Yellow jade carved roses match the dainty pretty russian doll, while yellow glass beads flank the sides of the necklace in an assymetrical fashion. Perfect for the yellow lovers.

Retail Price: SGD26/USD18

Simple casual pieces for work and play. Pendant measures 3cm tall and 2cm at its widest point, while necklace measures 23" long.

Top 3 things that annoy me (as a crafter)

#3. Tools falling apart

#2. No inspiration

#1. When your box (with MANY compartments) of beads, fall to the floor and scatter themselves all over the place, resulting in a headache that'll take more than a night's sleep to cure.

This time they fell apart even when the box was locked. RAWR!!!!!!!!! And the box broke. ='( Okiez back to OT. =)

Fashion Fusion Update

Hey babes,

Thanks for making it down to Suntec today to visit Jacq and I. I really appreciate it very much!! :D Most of my stuff got sold out, so i'm putting in OT tonight to make sure those who made plans to come down tomorrow will still have things to browse through. For those who are quite free tomorrow, i've got some evil news to tell you. Hurhur -rubs hands with glee- Karin's beads just arrived today, and since i'm gonna be OT-ing, you know the rest of the story I guess. Lol. I feel so bad just writing about it. Hahaha. =P So i'll see you when I see you. =)) Enjoy your weekends, whether it's with us or not. =) (Of course I prefer it if you came down to visit me -grin-)

Finale

Thank you everyone who came down to support me, voted, smsed and added me on facebook for the Digital Playzone. Thanks to all your support I emerged victorious, especially the sms voting, since I was neck and neck with Gwen. I didn't manage to head down to Zouk afterall, my mum insisted on me going home and frankly i was super tired. Lol. 2 hours of sleep for 45 hours. I've uploaded some of the pictures of the events onto Flickr, still waiting for the rest on the phone to be mailed to us. So i'll see you girls this Saturday and Sunday at Suntec Convention Hall 305. I'll definitely have something for you girls and for a start 30% off all existing designs now! Check out the right panel to see which items are still available. This offer will last til my head stops hurting from the lack of sleep. So while I'm still groggy and blur go ahead and snatch them up! I've got lots of things to catch up and do so hopefully I'll manage to churn out tons of designs for this weekend and some for online. =)

Continue voting for me, multiple votes are allowed. But if you're sick of voting it's alright, come down and say hi! =)) I'll be outside Cineleisure (16th Nov, Fri 6pm - 18th Nov, Sun 3pm) and i won't be running off anywhere that's for sure!

Nokia Digital Playzone

This is pretty much what I'll be involved in from Friday 6pm - Sunday 3pm. So after this I'll still be able to pop by to Zouk to catch you girls! Ok so here's the link (http://digitalplayzone.nseries.com/sg/index.html?section=technoholics&id=1) that you can vote for me, if you're free and are in town pop by to say Hi! That'll be an unusual way to get to know me. =) And I really do need more votes, look at the number that I have. =( Lol! Ok lar have a good day, sneak peeks will be up for Zouk's Flea & Easy later today or tomorrow coz i'm off to the columbarium. After this it'll be enforced staying at home and beading for you girls! =)

Maki Squarepatch

I've consigned the following items to Maki Squarepatch, do check them out if you're in the area. They are located at 111 Emerald Hill, Emerald Mansion. Just walk up the hill between Orchard Emerald and Centerpoint, all the way up and then down and you''ll see them on the ground floor of Emerald Mansion! =) Directions here.

So we're finally in the physical shops, time will tell if this is a path that we will pursue, coz I've heard of horror stories of consignment to stores. So well. Anyway I'm sure the experience with Maki Squarepatch would be a lovely one, just as I had with the Weng sisters and Ruth and those of you who came down specially to visit us! Thank you very much and yep next Sunday we're going to Zouk! We are happening aren't we! Lol. Hopefully inspiration doesn't fail me and I'll churn out new and interesting stuff for you girls every weekend! Yes 24th & 25th Nov is Fashion Fusion @ Suntec! Ok one event at a time. =) The lucky draw winner of October has been selected, Yun congratulations! I'll be contacting you shortly! =) I know i'm really slow, it's almost mid Nov, but I had to go about and buy nice prezzies for the prize, no scrappy lousy regifted stuff for you girls. Thanks for your support all this time, and may we grow hand in hand! =)

Sneak Peeks

Yes this round, the emphasis is more on bracelets and necklaces. So make a trip down tomorrow to 111 Emerald Hill, Emerald Mansions. I promise you'll have fun, at least i'll try to entertain you. =) We can all camwhore together, the thought of which gets Ruth very excited. Lol. Next week's event will be at Zouk, but I won't be there personally coz I'll be involved in something very interesting. I'll keep y'all updated! ;p

Happy Divali

To all our Hindu friends, Happy Divali. Divali marks the victory of good over evil, and the uplifting of spiritual darkness. So as we light up the candles and lamps, may we light up our hearts to always do the right thing, even when no one's watching.

Ci-tea!

Yep details as above and directions as below. Click on the image to enlarge or click here. By the way Emerald Hill is between Orchard Emerald and Centerpoint, so you can get off at Somerset Station or at the bus stop in front of Orchard Emerald. Basically you just walk straight all the way up the hill and down the hill and then you'll see Emerald Mansions on your left, don't fear if you don't seem to see any shops even after walking down the hill. Hello Eco is located within Emerald Mansions, peek into the estate and you'll see its happy store front and us waving at you!

There'll be drinks and we'll get to chill out and relax, unlike the usual events where we're usually more like sales people behind the counter. So this Saturday will be a chance for you to get to know the Weng sisters (Maki Square Patch), Ruth (Sparkle Thots), and myself better! Yep and a chance for me to entertain you with my inane nonsense. =P

MAAD weekend!

Yes it was! And it was really fun! Especially to be reunited with Jacq and crazy Adrine. Super fun people to hang out with. It really made my weekend a lot more fun and of course to meet you girls again. =) Of course we made new friends this time round and they are the lovely sisters of Triooo. Well actually Jacq lovingly bought me a wristlet to put my cash when I go for events and after coming home last night and browsing their site, I decided to get one of their Swing-it! collections. They're gonna customize and add that extra inch for my bulky phone. So yay!!
They are really affordable too at $22 for this little carry bag, perfect for hitting town or going out for a short while when you're not carrying lotsa stuff! =)

Knotty Bicsie was there too and we saw her really cool packaging, go buy one of her little baby booties, bikinis or her mini hp plushies mini bic & dreamo. You won't be disappointed!

All in all we had fun and we hope you had fun too! Those who got our mystery gift, we hope you liked it. Those who didn't get them come early this Saturday and maybe you'll be early enough for them! *wink*

Tootles,
Dawne

Sneak Peeks for MAAD

As promised. =) There'll be more exclusive pieces available tomorrow and the day after. Do come early and be rewarded! The first 5 customers of each day will get a free mystery gift. It's a 2 day event and new items will be released on Sunday, so don't miss it!

Trista's silver toned sister in carved onyx rose and czech fire polished glass beads

I love how this necklace looks like when worn! You should look at how the glass beads sparkle in the light!

Rose Quartz carved roses and quartz teardrops hang off a gold filled diamond hoop on 14k gold plated earhooks

A saccharine sweet creation using glass beads, tensha and the imported puff brass heart.
Don't you think it's got a very girl next door kinda look?

Thumbelina
I think tinkerbell is kinda overhyped and overused, while poor thumbelina has been neglected. Bring her home and let her adorn your ears with simple grace.

I'll be having another event next Saturday, 10th Nov, held in conjunction with Sparkle Thots & Maki Square Patch. Details will be released on Monday. Yep November is a busy month for Earring Addict. We'll bring Earring Addict out to meet you girls pretty much every week. =)

Dawne

In Spring (MH181) - SOLD

In spring, the leaves sprout, the birds start chirping, the flowers bloom. In spring we walk down the streets snug in our jackets and appreciate the turning of the season and the wonders of nature in our urban surroundings. Pity we live in summer and wet rainy days in place of the four seasons. Maybe the parrots in gold will chirp into your ears to tell you that everyday is spring if you allow it to be. In Spring measures approx. 4cm excluding 14k gold plated earhooks.
